Facebook from time to time sends blind emails to entice folks to join Facebook. It will use a random photo and name, sometimes yours, sometimes your friends'. I've received some after joining Facebook and disregard them, especially when knowing I've already joined and my friend didn't send the email.
Joined a Cause? Become a Fan? Just view one of those pages and you may see your photo/name listed. From there, anyone can request to become friends.
Treat these requests as you normally would. If you want to accept, accept. If you want to investigate why, investigate. If you want to delete as spam, delete. It's your choice.
Cheers,

One thing that I have done occassionally is to limit the privacy settings for certain individuals so that they cannot access my friend list, status, etc. However, Facebook does have suggestions for friends so one may appear in that way..
I received lately on a daily basis a request to be friend and joint them or subscribe on Facebook.
I do not know these people. Do I have to treat them as spam?
