Not sure if this applies to your state - but it would be good to renew now -
and let your clients know.
 

If your car is registered in Florida and your birthday is between now and
December 1st, you had better go renew your registration for two years NOW!
Sorry, if your birthday is after December 1st, you can't renew early and
will be stuck with the increase.
Effective September 1, 2009, Florida automobile registration fees will
increase 50%!
Notice that the state has not publicized this increase at all.
Save yourself some big money by renewing for two years.
