Howdyhowdy --
After much foot dragging and with a lot of cajoling from some of my real estate pals I FINALLY gave in and joined the social networking sites late yesterday:
http://www.facebook.com/alnapier.realestate.racing
http://www.myspace.com/al_napier
https://twitter.com/alnapier
So now, what the heck do I do with/to them? Other than yakking with a few racing buddies last night on FaceBook I haven't a clue on what to do with this stuff to gain any business.
Help! (???) Once upon a time I was amongst the most cutting edge of real estate people; nowadays I am lost out in the wilderness, wandering aimlessly........

Well I just started setting up my face book. Your probably in the same boat as I'm 25 years in the business and in my 50's. Well it helps to have youth working for you. My personall assistants and office secretaries are in the late 20' and they really know how to work the face book, tweeter etc which really helps me I'm lost but learning.. I will stay in contact with you and let you know how my responces are business wise. But I have made contact with people from the past in the first week. Will keep you in tune on stuff that works for me
So now, what the heck do I do with/to them?
Other than yakking with..racing buddies last night on FaceBook I haven't a clue on what to do with this stuff to gain..business.
I am only glad someone was brave enough to make this revelation…..I have the same perspective, joined them all and SO WHAT? Are there classes or Seminars widely available to cut through the haze…the value here has yet to be discerned and yet the hype goes on and on……don't give a TWIT, yet!

Seriously Glory Bee - Though I can do many things techwise this social networking deal is lost on me.
Probably because there is no Nitromethane involved ;-)
After about 36 hours I noticed my newly built FaceBook pace was tiltied heavily towards racing cars/buddies so I took steps this morning to "personalize" it some more by adding misc pics of friends & family stuff over the years; and by inviting some non-real estate (agents) or racing folks but local "regular" people I know/knew instead.
So far it is a lot of *noise* there, not quite sure what to make of it.
This weekend I am going to take an online course (similar to e-PRO, I am fortunate to be a beta tester of sorts) on the subject, and head out to the bookstore and see what reading material is available to help me optimize the page.
We'll see. FaceBook can be addicitive though.
I have to go wire my garage for a new welder today, will report back later on FaceBook progress if anyone's interested.......

Hello everyone!
I find it takes a lot of time to constantly update your Facebook and Twitter statuses. Did you know that Facebook has an application that allows you to update your Facebook status, and it will automatically update your Twitter status? It works very well and saves time in this technology based age! If you are interested, you can search "Twitter" in the applications section on Facebook and download the application from there.

I'm on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and a bunch of others that I am automatically sent to via EHomePost.Com. It is amazing how quickly you hear from people you have not seen in YEARS. It is so much fun! I really haven't figured out to make it work for my business yet, but I guess as long as I am there, someone will find me.
By the way, I am taking a Free Tour of EHomePost.Com. Matt Savage, who I work with has been terrific keeping up with me as we try to work out the bugs together.
I know the feeling. I too have Facebook and am not sure what to do with it. I have several friends who are using it to market their homes for sale and themselves but I'm somehow not sure that that is what I want to do. I also have a Blog and am trying to figure out what I want to do with that. I have yet to Twitter. That 's next. I am going to a class on Wednesday so if I find out any pearls of wisdom I will pass them along.
