One of today's most effective and no-cost tools is Google Alerts. This is an amazing resource that I use to access information about the real estate industry and trends in the market, my competition and marketing strategies they are using, research about market trends, researching my clients competition, identifying potential joint ventures and strategic alliances and much more.
Google Alerts enables you to set up an email alert on a daily or weekly basis or if you prefer, in real time. I've written many articles like this and am always cognizant of putting my name, company, website and email address at the bottom of the article. It only takes Google Alerts a few hours to find the article and notify me about it.
I recommend putting in place a once-a-day Google Alert which you can then review at the start of each day.
I highly recommend you setting up your own Google Alerts - and don't forget to set an alert up for your name, your competitors names that you want to track and your business.
This will enable you to monitor and track your personal and corporate brand and what people are saying about you, your services and your business.
Just go to GoogleAlert.com, sign up and tell Google what words or phrases you'd like to be alerted.
Whereas Google Alerts has been out for awhile, TweetBeeps (which is the same service for Twitter) is fairly new. Plus, TweetBeeps can be every bit as useful since Twitter by its very nature is so conversational. You'll want to check out the same "alerts" as you do on Google Alerts.
You can choose daily or hourly email alerts. You can also visit Tweetbeeps, which keeps count of all your keyword alerts. Viewing or deleting them is just one click away:
Here's a great tip for those in the real estate profession. Real estate professionals might set up hourly tweetbeeps for conversations related to their local market. Who knows, a twittering buyer may ask "Does anyone know a great real estate agent in Reno, Nevada?" WHOA! That's your market! You'll be the first one there.
Here's an online tip for your reputation: Keep tabs on your good name using Tweetbeeps, as well as with Google Alerts.
