I served on our MLS committee that researched each of our last 3 MLS providers over the past 15+ years. Our MLS has about 7,000 agents. Most recently we picked Rapattoni about 2 years ago. At the time we felt they offered the best product/service.

Our process was simple. I highly recommend you form a committee of 10-16 agents/brokers. High tech and low tech. Younger and older. Large company and small company. You get the idea. Try to be as inclusive as possible in representing the membership of your MLS. We then looked at the range of vendors and created a list of 8 or so top picks. We went thru Demo's of each of their offerings. We narrowed the list down to 6 and then further researched it and brought the list down to the top 3 and then down to the one we felt would best fit our members needs. It is a process. It also involves a tremendous amount of due diligence in identifying features that you want and that will best serve the needs of your agents. It took us about a year to figure out entirely and then another few months to implement.

You will never make everyone happy. I personally love Rapattoni and find their statistical reports great.

Good luck,

I am the current MLS chairman for the Summit MLS, Inc, which is owned by the Summit Association of Realtors in Colorado. We use MLXchange and have been very happy with the for years. We started with them when they were system 4 with GEAC and went the inter-realty change and now MLX. It has been at least a 10 year relationship with them. We are very happy with their technology, their responsiveness and especially their user groups, where they take what their users want implement them. We are small MLS and feel like we have the power of the best system out there. I have been involved since day one and have switched from FBS. We have not looked back. A change for your members is never easy, so look for system you know will grow with you over the years, so you won't be switching around like many associations do. Good Luck!
