Turning to the question of trying to do it all by blogging and posting, there is an agent in this area that is doing an excellent job using social media. She maintains an extremely active blog, writes really good articles for one of the major real estate sites, and use facebook and twitter actively. However, her search rankings seem to bounce all over the place so I'm thinking this may be the difference between an airplane and a helicopter. If you run out of fuel in a helicopter, you drop faster.

I think social media marketing is important but I personally think it needs to supplement good SEO, not replace it. There are very few people that can maintain the level of activity in the example above (it's constant). We haven't started a blog because of the first rule (once you start, you have to keep up). Bev can write, but she is too busy with her regular responsibilities to make the commitment.

Edgar,

I need a list of what SEM, SEO, and so forth mean!

Thank you.
