I love Photomatix and I use it all the time for exterior shots, as well as for my "fun" HDR photography.

There are pros that use it for interiors but as you have probably seen in the Photography for Real Estate Flickr group, it can be tricky to get it right without looking artificial. "Muddy" looking walls is the other artifact.

I have 8 inexpensive strobes and that works better for me. I would be spending a lot more time in post production if I did it all with HDR.

It can't hurt to give it a try, they have a trial version.

@John,

You have to be careful what you do with Photoshop. I want to make the house look as good as possible (this includes staging which, unlike photography, keeps "working" after the arriving at the property) but I want it to be accurate.

I think we all know that you can't remove things like wires from photos without getting into misrepresentation issues.
