This is just a note to say Congratulations to our country for doing a great
thing...

As for a political digest... I will participate, but at this time it seems a
bit late... perhaps now we can discuss some real issues without partisan
bias... things like the election process, voter issues, campaign reform,
etc.

Have a great day!

Best regards,

I just wanted to Congratulate everyone who voted for Obama, in hopes that he will do great things for this country.  In this country the majority wins and the people have spoken.

I am not going to lie to you and tell you I think Obama was the best choice, I don't. I am only saying that I hope he keeps his promises and that he will make you all proud!

Paul, It will be very gratifying in you are willing to give up the partisan bias, no doubt the conversation will improve. Also, although we will allow a short period for your party to acclimate to its responsibilities (Bush received about 3 months after 9/11), the Dem's will be apropriately critiqued in their job performance. You should remember that in excess of 55 million Americans did not agree that your congratulations are in order

I cant say what I was talking about, since you did not include any of my
post...

But as you know, the Democratic Congress you speak of did not have enough of
a majority to actually pass much legislation... there are rules about the
nature of the majority needed, determined in the Rules Committees, before
legislation even gets discussed, never mind voted on... so without enough of
a majority, it is nearly as if there were none.

So if that was to the point, great... if not, I don't know what you are
talking about.

Have a great day!

--- last I checked we were a democracy... that is how it goes... Obama won
by more than 4 million votes in the popular vote... we should congratulate
ourselves for electing a champion of freedom and liberty, and allow him to
do his job...

Saul mentions his distress over the hatred he sees for George Bush... I see
at least as much, and likely more, toward our next President... frankly it
is disgusting...

Have a great day!

I disagree Paul. I think you will see less, a lot less. You will not see Ellen Degeneress, Oprah, Barbara Walters, etc denigrating Obama...all the folks with all of the air time are pro Obama. Someone let me know when SNL does a negative, nasty Obama skit. I think it will be awhile brfore we see that..Most of the people that I know who are not fans of the left will be much more respectful then we have seen the oppositon was to George Bush.So...only time will tell.I do agree that that type of attitude is disgusting...and we have seen it plenty over the last 8 years.Saul

CONGRATULATIONS AMERICA!!!!!
I am a middle class white woman born in 1960 who voted for Obama and the Hope For this great country that he represented to me. I was brought up in northern Virginia in a staunchly republican, upper middle class home. I, and everyone in America should give him our support and do everything in our power to fix this broken country of ours. Barack Obama is a true leader and a devoted family man. He wants to make this country prosper and grow if not for himself but for his two young daughters. These little girls represent our hope for the future for all of our children and our children's children. President-elect Obama inspires me to be the best I can be during these tough times and I admire him tremendously. Barack Obama is everyone's president without regard to color, race or religion......all people, all americans.

One thing I tell REALTORS every day when talking about their websites is that they need a website strategy...and hope is not a very good strategy."I hope someone will come to my website today.""I hope I get leads from my website.""I hope I can convert website leads into sales and commission checks.""I hope my website helps me get more exposure for my listings."A strategy requires a long term or broad view and then the tactics to achieve the goals and objectives as described in the strategy."Saul

Bush had policies and made statements that were easily attacked, that these
folks did not like, and that thereby easily lent themselves to ridicule..
Bad Policy, Bad Speech, Secretive Administration = Open for Attack... I hope
that the same attacks are made on any President that uses the Presidency as
this administration has... but that is not hatred... that is simply the
workings of a truly democratic country... hatred is personal... like calling
a person a terrorist when you know they are not, insisting they are Muslim
when you know they are not, saying they are unpatriotic when they are as or
more patriotic than most... all of that, is hatred... unfounded attacks
based on fabricated imaginings, that are personal in nature, is hatred...

I am speaking only to the group here, the arguments of which seems overly
vituperrious, without foundation, and seemingly quite hateful... I see far
less of that from the Obama supporters than I do from the Right.

I am indeed quite surprised at the level of this sort of fear mongering and
hate persisted in despite facts and debunking efforts.

>From my perspective, I have seen far more of the hate and fear without basis
on the one side of the debate than on the other.

Frankly it makes me sad to see that sort of thing, in my own country.

Have a great day!

I see it as hatred, from the "gut," and distortion and sensationalizing. Look at Oliver Stone's movie. That is more than ridicule, it is hatred. It has dismayed me as well. Hopefully we can move beyond that. We'll see.Saul

We now have the best president money can buy.

This is a very sad commentary. I went to my Republican headquarters and there were volunteers working the phones. Dave

Obama campaign workers angry over unpaid wages

HEADLINES

Indianapolis - Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd.
The line was long and the crowd was angry at times.
"I want my money today! It's my money. I want it right now!" yelled one former campaign worker.
A former spokesman for the Obama campaign said 375 people were hired as part of the Vote Corps program and said people signed up to work three-hour shifts at a time. Three hours of canvassing got workers a $30 pre-paid Visa card.
The workers showed up to get their cards Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.
"There was a note on the door saying 1:00 pm and then at 1:20 pm everybody was like why is nobody here. They just got here and they're trying to get it organized," said Heather Richards, a former campaign worker.
The large gathering of around 375 people prompted police to call in extra officers and set up temporary barricades. The barricades helped keep the crowd from spilling out onto Meridian Street. Police say the several hundred people in line were for the most part orderly.
"No arrests. Some of the people were upset at first because the line wasn't moving as fast as they thought it should. But we really haven't had any problems," said Major Darryl Pierce, Metro Police.
Eventually people did start getting paid, but some said they were missing hours and told to fill in paperwork making their claim and that eventually they would get a check in the mail.
"Still that's not right. I'm disappointed. I'm glad for the president, but I'm disappointed in this system," said Diane Jefferson, temporary campaign worker.
"It should have been $480. It's $230," said Imani Sankofa.
"They gave us $10 an hour. So we added it. I added up all the hours so it was supposed to be at least $120. All I get is $90," said Charles Martin.
"I worked nine hours a day for 4 days and got paid half of what I should have earned," said Randall Waldon.
Some people weren't satisfied with filling out a claim form for money they felt was still due to them.
"They say that they gonna call you or they going to mail it to you, but I don't know. We'll see what happens," said Antron Grose.
"Talking about they'll mail it to us. I ain't worried about that, man. They're not going to mail nothin'," said Martin.

No Saul, hope is not a strategy... it is a motivator, strategy comes later.
