There is a IC approved vendor I believe that does tech support for a small fee. His name escapes me. Saul?

Can you say what sort of file it is? If for example it is a zip file,
Outlook cannot read it, but it can be unzipped and then restored to
Outlook... but to know, we would need to know the file format of the
backup... I assume you are in Windows?

Have a great day!

Best regards,

Best Buy saved my Outlook files after my laptop crashed and advised me how to restore them.  The charge was very minimal.

@PSilver

Outlook uses files called PST and OST. They are used as a single compressed file that stores all of your email, contacts, calendar items and tasks. You can back up and restore them using the file menu, choosing "import and export..."
