Is anyone currently using Top Producer 8i that used the 7i previously.  I consider myself to be proficient on the computer but the new 8i seems to have taken away the "easy" parts of the old 7i.  Is anyone else experiencing the same frustrations???

I too do not like the 8i version of Top Producer. I have used 7i for a couple of years and it is quite easy but like you said Carol, several of the "easy" functions of the 7i version have all but disappeared and now I don't like it. In fact, at the login screen you can still choose to use 7i and that is what I do.. I do not use 8i... One thing I don't like the most is my default screen when I log in is my daily things to do list.. you now have to go one extra step to display that instead of it being just automatic.. I think they goofed on this one.

I agree completely with the comments about 8i.  I continue to use 7i and will do so until I am forced to change.  At that time I hope to have an alternative and plan to move my business elsewhere.  I have to admit I have not spent much time trying to learn 8i but from what I've seen, I have no interest in pursuing it any further.

Im just finishing the EPRO Course and was thinking of getting the Top Producer for my contact management however after reading your comments I am hesitant. I am not a tech /computer handy and it seems like it may be difficult for me to learn how to use it. Plus I understand that need to take a course to learn to use even before 7I came out. Does any body have a sugestion as to what other software as good as Top Producer I should consider?

Thanks,

Agent Office is pretty easy to use and will meet most requirements. Advantage Xi is much more comprehensive but probably a tad bit harder to get to grips with. A great program though!

My problem is that I have an Advanced Access web site and I signed on to use TP 8i. Changes have to be made to use Internet Explorer 7 with AA but the changes prevent me from using TP 8i. Neither company is willing to admit that they are the problem and it is my understanding that 7i may go away by the end of the year. Has anyone heard that? I have had my AA site for over 5 years and I hate to change and all my contacts have been on TP for about the same number of years starting with TP desktop. I like using the internet for contact management because I can access from home and anywhere else I happen to be. What do the rest of you who have both AA, TP and use Internet xplorer7 do about this problem.

Very sorry to hear that Chuck. We are very excited about the new interface, however, it is apparent that some 7i users are having difficulty with it. It's new and different and takes some learning. You might be glad to know that our executive team has given some very clear directives to address the concerns from our 7i user base before we make the changeover, and for that reason no end date for 7i has been set yet.

There are some very cool new features and functionality in 8i, not to mention a departure from Java, that make 8i a better tool than anything we have ever offered before. Once we do turn 7i off we will be able to make some of the even bigger improvements that we have planned. For now we have added a ton of new content, at no additional charge, and we are constantly improving the way it works based on feedback, so I hope you will keep checking back to look at the changes.

Thank you,

I also did not like Top Producer 8i and always loved 7i, and even taught it for my company. I spoke with Gary David Hall and he suggested I try the 30 day trial of Mark-It Advantage Xi. You can check it out by going to http://www.garydavidhall.com/. I have now been using it for several months and have never regretted purchasing it. Mark Stepp who owns the company is very receptive to your input and will even do software updates based on our individual recommendations.

It does the best of Top Producer, Agent Office and others but does it better and easier.

Jeff

I also use both programs. Top producer 8i will also run on Mozilla FireFox. You can run Advanced Access page manager on the tweaked version of IE7. Call Top Producer tech support and they can help you with the set up if you have a problem.
