I fully agree, Win. It is easy to compare hospitals where you have objective data, i.e. mortality rate, length of stay in the hospital, etc. But how can a real estate agent be rated objectively?
What objective data can be posted? If you consider number of closings, not only will you penalize the new agent, but also Brokers who routinely pass leads onto their agents resulting in low "numbers", but who may be the most experienced and competent person in the office. And any time rankings are subjective, the potential for getting loose with the rules to please the client greatly increases, so clients' opinions have no place in an MLS. Of course, I solicit testimonials and use them on my websites, but that's quite a different thing.

Even hospitals and Doctors are difficult to rate objectively. Consider that some hospitals and Doctors take cases that are a high probability of NOT succeeding. Does that make their rating less, when in reality the Doctors skills are probably better than Doctor who don't take the difficult cases.
