Question… when you hear this question… "Is Your Website Consumer-Centric?". What does it mean to you?

Thx

Hi Mike,
To me, it means that the Landing Pages have nothing about me and my team and everything about what the consumer is looking for. Buried deep within the site is an "about TeamCox" page. It is not about the agent. Upon initial contact, the visitor could care less about us. They want homes, pictures and prices. That's it. Relationships, if developed and incubated, are down the road.

Focused on the needs of the Consumer and not you!

I can't get over how it these times of stress how None consumer oriented the agents I deal with are today. So many agents I run across seem to know it all, except how to listen and respond accordingly.

For me, it means having the information on the web site that the consumer would be interested in. Something about the area you are selling in, Taxing information, Job information, Local information about schools, parks, etc. What ever YOU might want to know if YOU were moving to a new area. Mike,

To me, Consumer-Centric means centered/focused on the consumer and the consumer's interests and needs. What is the consumer looking for? What does the consumer need/want to know? How quickly and easily can he find it on my website? What makes it easy for him to navigate my site? What will make the consumer stay longer and come back often? Hopefully, a consumer-centric website will be on the consumer's list of Favorites.

HI Mike, good question and the replies have been dead on. But no site can possibly answer all the consumer's questions. Consumer Centric  for me means the proposition you make.. "visit my website"  and you will be rewarded by time savings, relevant content and urgency in response to your questions. Thats why we built realPING.. to be one click away from NOW.

Agents spend all sorts of money to get consumer to their website yet many fail at offering Conversion tactics.

Mike,

I love the question and the answers have been great.  I think another part of being customer centric has to do with your writing style on a website.

Consumer centric in that area, to me, means that you write as you talk - like you're writing a letter to a friend.  It also means that your marketing content is very consumer oriented.

For example, rather than saying

"I can help you find a home because I know the area so well"

you could write

"You'll get the advantage of my in-depth knowledge of the neighborhoods in this area, so you'll be confident you found the home that is just right for you and your family."

There's a very interesting tool online called the We We Calculator.   Just put in a URL and the calculator will tell you how consumer oriented your content is.  Put in the link to your "About" page.  Sometimes, it's a real eye-opener!

Kathleen
