Hi! I've used MyFax for about the last 6 weeks so I can receive incoming faxes on my computer. I looked at some others, but with this service I could get a local number for not much more and that was important to me. It's been working fine. Will also send faxes, but I haven't used it for that yet. Their website is: http://myfax.com/

I have used myfax for months now and have been very satisfied. I only pay $10.00 per month and I have only paid .10 on month when we surpasses the number of faxes in my plan.
I have been completely satisfied.

Has anyone had success with a particular eFax service? (Scanner response too)
-----
I've written about this here in RealTalk many times but its worth repeating... Packetel offers an eFax service we've been using for a few years now. Here are the highlights: Flat rate of $3.95 per month (this is the lowest cost I've seen), No per-page charge, No setup fees (no other fees at all), and Unlimited number of incoming faxes.
You can choose to have your faxes arrive in your email in either PDF or TIF format (we chose PDF). As I said, we've been using this service for nearly two years and we're very pleased.
If you choose to sign up with them - Here's an added benefit for you and for me. When signing up, if you enter the following code: ujumk18509,both you and I will receive one free month automatically.
TWO MORE TIPS: There was a previous question in RealTalk about Scanners. When our scanner was down recently we simply faxed documents to ourself and they arrived as PDF attachments in our email, which we saved to the disk. Same result as scanning and much faster. Tip Two: Nearly a year ago we bought Adobe Standard (step up from the free Adobe Reader). One big advantage is the ability to move pages around within a document. Another is the ability to "insert" pages with Adobe Standard. We fax a contract to our client to sign. They fax back the signature page(s) instead of the entire contract and then we can insert the signature pages into the contract and delete the original unsigned pages so we now have one complete file to email to all the interested parties. Adobe Standard is really worth the money.

I have used efax for years and have loved it. I have a local number and as an added benefil I can turn any doc into a pdf by just clicking print and then using their program to save it as a pdf. I often fax items to myself and then can save them in an outlook folder I have created for a client. Hope that helps.
you can find out more information at www.efax.com . Sharon
Based on recommendations here, I also subscribed to MyFax.com and have been quite happy. You can set a preference as to whether you want faxes delivered as tif or as pdf files by default, they will store the faxes online for a period of time, even though they do come to you via your email Sending "faxes" from your computer is simple..you can either use their online portal and upload your documents (up to 8 attachments, as I recall) or you can use your email client and simply send an email that arrives at the receipient as a fax (I LOVE THAT!!!!)
They have different subscription levels based on the anticipated number of incoming and/or outgoing faxes.

I have been using efax.com for several years. I have been very pleased with the service. Any fax that is received is received in my email within a couple of minutes. They also store the fax at their website for awhile. They used to offer a free service, but you probably would get a strange area code that may confuse your clients. I pay for the service so that I can have a local area code.
Hope this helps!
