Hi Everyone,

It the time of year that I like to take some continuing education. Last year, I took the ACRE course and found it to be EXCELLENT.  I was able to apply it to my practice immediately.

I am considering taking some sort of seller representation course, and there seems to be at least 3 out there to choose from;  Accredited Seller Representative course, the Seller Representation Specialist course, and the Certified Home Marketing Specialist course.

If you have taken any of these courses, please post your opinion!

Editor's Note
Vince, I'd go with the Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) program that was created by Adorna Carroll, Bruce Aydt and Steve Casper. We are familiar with SRS because we developed the online version on our platform. http://ic.srscouncil.com/John

Vince...
Thank you for the very kind words about ACRE® !  I think you hit on one of the most common concerns about adding something new like this to ones business..."will I be able to apply it to my business!"  As you pointed out, the answer is an emphatic "yes", and right away.  And, between the course and it's accompanying coaching program, whatever help anyone needs with integrating this Consulting model into their practice is readily available.  And we're hard at work to bring you even more great resources!  "Stay tuned" as Mollie says!

Vince,

I would chime in with John and say SRS is the course to take. I have not only taken it, I teach it. My state association was considering two of the seller representation courses out there; I took both as an instructor and compared the outlines and content. SRS is far superior, IMHO, due to content and constant relating back to the Code of Ethics, which is THE DOCUMENT if  you are a REALTOR. Adorna, Bruce and Steve did a super job writing this course and I think you will find it time and money well spent.

Hi Vince, thank you for your questions and Melanie, thank you for your response. As one of the authors of the SRS - Seller Representative Specialist designation course, we are very proud of the progress made since its roll-out in 2006. To date, we have had the course taught in over 20 states, have had 72 classes and have enrolled over 2000 designees into the SRS Council, LLP.

The course has received rave reviews from both new and seasoned agents and many of the 20 states have now secured licenses to provide the material. All states have received substantial CE credits and many now provide GRI credits for the material as well. In addition to the live courses, Internet Crusade is our on line course provider and recently we have received primary ARELLO/IDECC approval which will allow licensed providers an opportunity to secure secondary approval and issue up to 14 hours of CE credit for the on line course to not only real estate practitioners but also appraisers.

We hope you have an opportunity to take our designation course from superior trainers like Melanie or one of our other national trainers who have extensive field experience to deliver the depth, substance and cutting edge concepts contained within the program. Should you be interested in more info - please don't hesitate to contact me, Bruce Aydt or Steve Casper at http://www.SRSCouncil.com and learn more about the SRS - Seller Representative Specialist.

Take care and thanks again,

Adorna O. Carroll, ABR, ABRM, GRI, SRS, SRES, PMN, ePRO    Adorna@Adorna.com
