Just a note to let people know, Microsoft Office is not the only game in town. There are other programs that will work just as well and do not cost an arm, leg or foot.
There is Corel's Office x3or x4, cost is around $49-$79, it will open Office Docs, also you can save docs as Office docs.
also there is Open Office which is FREE!!! at www.openoffice.org
it is great, try it out.
Prior to getting into Real Estate, I was a computer professional for 10 yrs. I still teach computer classes on a part-time basis, have taught office applications and have used all the applications I speak of here, while I think MS Products are good, I think they are way too expensive! There are alternatives.

Wished I had read some of these before I bought this wonderful program. Lucky for me I still have my old lap top. Reading is believing

He is 100% correct, for those of you are comfortable learning something different, lots of options..If you are going top use another office suite, use www.openoffice.org
I discourage the vast majority (the 20/80 rule) of you to use anyting other than MS office for various reasons:
You alrealdy have it
You already know, most of it anyway
The balance of the free world (US) uses it
It is THE defacto business app for orporate America, exceptions not withstanding, ie IBM, Red Hat, the geeky companies..
It works with everyting else, outlook, etc..
Lots of templates, FREE ones from Microsofts website that are RE specific
Lots of add-in/ons..
Technical support, paid and free
I can drone on, but won't, you get the message....

I also wish that I had talked with users before my purchase. I also kept 2003 on my laptop and my office computer. I’m using 2007 on my desktop and now that I’m using more frequently, I’m beginning to like it. It just takes some time to learn.

Cheryl,
Our vendor is ordering a laptop for me to replace the dinosaur PC on my desk. He has told me he will apply to Microsoft for a "downgrade" of the Office 2007 to the Office 2003 version. He said this is commonly done as so many people hate the Office 2007 version. I'm just going to go with the tried and true 2003 version so all of us at this association are working with the same software version!
