Looking into getting new website and really like both Z57 and Point2 (Have their standard site now)  Anyone recommend one vs the other?  The cost to upgrade to Professional at Pointw $50.  Z57 is $700 to build and $99/month and $119 if I want 2 IDX solutions on site.  Any feedback or input is much appreciated.  Is the $50/month and setup worth the differences from one to another?

Thanks in Advance,

There's no comparison, Jeff. Go with Point2. Have you looked at their
feature list? With a built-in blog and their GREAT syndicated
advertising, they can't be matched. There's no yearly contract so you
can downgrade, upgrade or unsubscribe anytime.

http://nls.point2.com/Content/WhatDoIGet.asp

Point2 has its own NLS listing system, but you'll also want to add an
IDX search (and use Point2's system too, to take advantage of their
syndicated advertising). You can either use the search IDX provided by
your board, or subscribe to one (or more) of many excellent commercial
providers such as 1ParkPlace and MLSFinder, any of which can be used
on your Point2 site.

Point2 sites are by far the most customizable sites on the market. You
can use one of their templates or build a full custom site on top of
the system. If you like learning new skills and figuring out new ways
to do stuff on the computer, the system is ideal. If you prefer a
simple wizard-driven interface that allows no room for experimentation
(and little room for customization), then you might prefer another
system.

I've also heard a lot of negative reports about Z57's customer
support. Point2 offers paying subscribers 7 day per week telephone
support, lots of free tutorials and training program and its message
board is a good place to get support from both Point2 and its members.

I will second Suzanne's comments.  Have set up sites for a couple of agents on Z57 and their customer service is terrible.  I also know agents who have cancelled for that reason and now are with Point2.

Z57 also says they are customizable, but any changes made after the initial approval have to be made by them, at a cost.  And you can tell their sites, they are very much alike.

Yes, Point2 is intuitive, flexible, and the greatest value for the price on the market.

I just signed up with Point2 and went with the Professional version.  I have found their customer support very helpful and instructive.  I am still learning the ropes with it, but I'm sure I'll like it once I'm totally set up.

I have been with Z57 for a number of years. Previous to that I have had 3 different companies hosting a site for me. Their customer service is outstanding. Their system is easy to use and navigate. I am sold and not going anywhere else. Check out http://dianearonov.com to get an idea. Some of the things we did on the front page, Sunnymead Ranch log and current bank repos link were customized. The rest is stock stuff. No I dont hang out on the freeway. My contact at z57 has been Tommy Voss. But, everyone there is very, very good. You get what you pay for. Stay away from the site that you cant manipulate that pull only from the mls, such as Superlative. I had them. Could not live with it. If you change status on listings to anything other than active, they dropped off you site. Any other questions, call, or email. 800-899-8148 is z57's number.

I have been using Advanced Access but have had major problems with their customer service and with the web site doing what it is supposed to do.

I have used a few different website providers and my previous career centered on consulting companies on the deployment of web based applications.  (I did not code anything.  I was a “Geekspeak Translator”.  Basically, I bridged the gap between what the tech guys thought was really cool and the brass tax dollars of the business executives.)  In my opinion, unless you can afford the time and money that goes into a completely custom site you cannot beat Point2 for the money.  No one offers as much functionality and flexibility.  When I moved over I was blown away by how much time their system saved me.  I enter the property into my site once and all of my online marketing is created, including my virtual tour.

Absolutely awesome!  Hands down it can’t be beat.  And you don’t have to be any kind of a guru to use it.

I have to agree, I love the point2agent.  I have also tried AdvancedAcess and spent A LOT of money for nothing.  point2agent has so many more features and links your listings to thousands of other agent sites as well as syndicates to listing sites such as craigslist and frontpage. Very user friendly!  I have also tried alamode, I am now back to point2agent.  I have been the happiest with them and received the most leads with this one.

Oh, by the way...if you know of someone thinking of buying or selling Real Estate, who would appreciate the level of service I offer, I'd love to help them!  So, as these people come to mind, please give me a call with their name and number.  I am never too busy for your referrals!!

Ditto everything James wrote, plus a friendly reminder that you can
also have a fully custom design built on top of your Point2 site -- to
me, THE most amazing feature of the system.

I tried Z57 last year and found them to be completely useless! They made many false promises and never delivered! The customer service was impossible! After 8 months of difficulty I had my credit card reverse all charges!!!  Buyer BEWARE of Z57!!!

Z57 clipped me for $1,218.00, did not stand behind what they said they would do, and would not refund any money for things they charged for but did not do.

Run for your life from them; they are probably going to clip you too.

I ordered an Advanced Access website and they promised that it would work with a Mac.  Unfortunately, after spending 100's of dollars, it is not fully functionable with the Mac OS.

Also, you cannot use VISTA and IE7 on a PC with some of the Advanced Access sites, so research carefully before buying a website through their firm.

Marlow, though I no longer design for AA sites, I occasionally have to
do edits on them. I have no trouble doing them using Windows on my
Intel Mac, but unless you have an Intel Mac with Windows, you're
probably outta luck.
