I need to buy a new digital camera. I just bought (and have not received yet) visualtour.com. I am not very technical. Can anyone recommend a digital camera?"
I just ordered the Olympus SP560UZ. It is a new camera and not available until November, however, I will have it before the Las Vegas NAR convention. I ordered it because of the low light capabilities, the wide angel lense and the in camera panorama stitching. I currently own the Olympus C720 and have been very happy with the customer support Olympus provides and the software that comes with the camera is above all of the rest except Photoshop.

I have a Kodak EasyShare C875. It works real good except the EasyShare is not great if you’re sending pictures for newspaper advertising. What I do then is remove the card from the camera and load them in a separate file on my computer rather than letting EasyShare load the pictures. The camera itself is very easy to use and I get great quality pictures.

Two excellent sources for buying digital cameras, cam corders or any photographic equipment - B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/) and Calumet (http://www.calumetphoto.com/).
For the size of photos used in the mls and on web pages a 3 to 10 megapixel camera is suffecient. You can print a nice 5x7 at 300 dpi at 3 megapixels. Also want a camera that has at least a 35mm equivelant 35mm to 110mm focal length. The shorter focal length being your wide angle (50-60mm is the 'normal').
Also check operating tempature. I found that some cameras do not work well in cold or humid weather.

It depends on what you want to spend. I have a Casio that has a stong flash and a good wide angle few for 90% of my pictures. For a point and shoot it does very well. For taking pictures of homes you need the widest angle lens you can get. So if you can afford it a Digital SLR is the best choice and you can change lenses and shoot under varying light situations, mine is the Nikon D200.

According to several sources in the photo world to buy save is from Amazone.com and from Adorama.com. These professionals did not mentioned the two you wrote, but if you have a great experience we have four sources.

I purchased a Kodak Easy Share V705 this year and love it! It has dual lenses so you can take wider angle shots, but without the fisheye effect. It also takes panoramic shots – You take a series of 3 photos overlapping the edges slightly and the camera stitches them together automatically! It is so easy to use and the photos come out great. I bought mine on sale at Office Depot, but I buy a lot of my “techie toys” at Amazon.com. They’re generally cheaper than anywhere else. Hope this helps you make your decision.

These also are excellent sources. I have purchased photo equipment from adorama, B&H, Calumet and Amazon. Calumet may be a bit higher then the other three.
I have a Nikon D-80, which admittedly is overkill if used strictly for real estate, as is the D-200 which is a professional level body. However, I also have a Canon A540 which does a very good job and can easily fit in a pocket or purse.
Bottom line, Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus and Casio all make excellent digital point and shoots. Get at least 3 megapixels, and find one that you can handle easily, i.e. the location of the buttons is comfortable, and one that operates well in the enviornment you live/work in.
