I am trying to figure out which I should buy a Treo or a Blackberry and also find some infomation on what they do the best. I have a wireless computer and would like to also be able to get on the internet and email on a phone.

If you have made a decision on Blackberry vs. Treo I would like to know how you made it. I have been working on that issue for a year and I get mixed messages on both. Part of the problem is I get great reliability with my Sanyo cell phone. My realtor associates with the Treo have too many dropped calls. The Blackberry can't be used as a lock box key. So although I would like a one device for all, for now I'm sticking with reliability.

I have the palm trio and It drives me crazy.  First of all it is always getting turned on accidently in my purse, freezing up so then I have to reset it, the voice command on it doesn't pick up the name correctly, so that feature is worthless.   I am ready to look yet again for another phone that I can use the internet, email and so forth on.

I'm going to make a wild guess that your Palm Treo is with Sprint.  Am I correct?  There were a number of people in a recent tech class I took that had the very same complaint as you...freezing up...they were all with Sprint.  However, the Verizon users had no complaints.

I purchased my Treo 700p during the first week of March.  After getting past the initial learning curve, as I had never owned a Palm product, I have NEVER looked back.  I love my TREO...it does everything I wanted a smartphone to do plus more, and it never has freezes!  Before purchasing it I researched the heck out of smartphones on various user forums.  That is how I reached my decision to go with a Palm product especially since I use Verizon as my carrier.

Try a blackberry or "Crackberry" They have the best internet system and email system. The phone system is also very clear.
The speaker phone and bluetooth are working as what you may expect.
The only item of my model I like not so much is that my model is a wide model. I bought my self a real leather case for the phone, because before you know it fells out of your hand. And I do not want to damage it.
And this leather case, when you close it, it put the phone on silent (save) mode. But you are still able to use the bluetooth.
I also loaded googlemap in it. All works perfect.
A great system. My provider is T-mobile and the model I 8700g.

I currently use the Treo 700p and haven't had any problems. They key really is the network. I have Verizon. I tried several different phones on different providers. I suggest that you try out the phones and different companies during the initial trial period. I also tried the Treo 680 on Cingular and the service was fair but their insurance plan does not cover the screen while Verizon does. My problem with the blackberry is that there is no touch screen. Also the blackberry is really all about email. If you want it to do other things like handle your calendar, etc., it is more limited than the treo. Also I think the treo is the better phone. Overall I think it is the more versatile product.

I used to have a Treo 600 and loved it although I wanted Bluetooth. I then upgraded to the Treo 700W. I absolutely hate it. I lose calls all the time, it will suddenly shut off and I don't know until I realize that I have received no calls for a while. Verizon replaced the phone once, but still the same problems. I had to get rid of the email and web as the phone would disconnect from a call and then get the email. Nobody could help me with this. Other agents have used the 700 W with luck although they all seem to get calls dropped. I would probably go the Palm version if I were to go for the Treo again.

I will probably go the Blackberry route next time as I know many fellow Realtors who love them.

Part of the decision depends on whether or not you like the touchscreen of the Treo or the "push" feature on the Blackberry.  I had a Blackberry for a year or so and hated it, mainly because of the "push" feature, yet it did everything I needed a smartphonre to do.  2 months ago I purchased a Treo (I think I hate it too! lol), primarily because I am more comfortable with the OS and using a stylus.  I might also add that I am on phone #3.  The first one kept giving me gobbly gook and there was a problem with either the slide button or the speaker on the second one.  Also, the Treo needs to be charged more frequently, especially when using the mail feature.  However, it also fits my needs and then some.  I am a Cingular user and have no problem with the quality of my calls.  HTH.

After working with a Palm PDA and a cell phone (Alltel in my area) for several years, I also wanted to move to something that was all in one.   So, after looking at the many options, I went with the Treo 700wx and have just a few minor issues with it.  However, I love having my cell phone, Outlook contact file/tasks list/email/calendar, and the Internet (with my local MLS) all on one device.  Plus, customers think that I am on the cutting edge of technology when they hear it tell me who is calling.  The voice actuated feature takes some getting used to, but maybe if you change to a southern drawl like mine it will work better for you.
