 I found a neat product

Hi everyone, I know I am primarily a lurker, but I have found a product that I really like and would like to share with you. It is a company that lets you know if someone has opened an email you have sent. For example when I get a website hit one of the first things I do is send an email. This product lets me know if they have opened, forwarded, and how long they spent looking at it. It also tells me if they opened any links I have included. Go to readnotify.com and check it out. It is priced very reasonably and I am not affiliated with it in any way.

Thank you, Kitty! That is great information to know. I am excited about finishing up the e-Pro course, and hope to get started with an e-mail campaign soon afterward. This will help me to be able to track my clients and prospects e-mail reading habits. Does the site also tell you if your e-mail gets trashed (deleted) before it is read? Once again, thanks for the info.

I believe that readnotify.com uses a Web bug.

I consider Web bugs an invasion of privacy (and unethical, without prior
disclosure to the recipient) and have Outlook set to prohibit downloading of
Web bugs. YMMV.

Point 2 Agent also gives you the ability to track your email.  Drip email campaigns are not available with the standard (free) site, however there are lots of great tools there.  P2A is also an Internet Crusade approved vendor.

I've used readnotify.com for years. You can
either set it to let receipients know the message
is monitored for delivery or not. Helps me when
I want to know whether someone has received my
emails. I use it to document the receipt of
critical documents during transactions, and to
keep track of whether my granddaughter reads
Grandma's email. LOL It also notifies me when
someone has read my pdf attachments.

I went to readnotify.com and my anti-spam, anti-virus software (TrendMicro) said it was an unsafe site.

Don't believe it. I've used readnotify.com AND
trend micro for the last several years and never had a problem.

My computer had no issues signing on.

This looks like a great product and price.

Who's e-mail address shoud I put in as referer, so they get a free month of service?

On the other hand, you could do it for free.

In Outlook, when you create a new email message, click on the Options button.  In the dialog box that pops up, simply click "Request a read receipt for this message"

What it does is set the "Read receipt" flag that is built into the email protocol.

Of course, ReadNotify adds some other things that you might like, but it will require time consuming and detailed analysis to get the information you need to really build "perfect" emails.
