If you just need transportation, yes I can see you buying
But there are also car freaks like me, who loves a certain design and engineering.
No, I do not want something on 4 wheels. As a kid I had a dream and today I drive that dream.

I agree with you, Ronnie. Drive what you love!

Some of us have different relationships with our cars. Even though I'm female, like you, I had dream cars fueled by glossy articles in Car & Driver and Road & Track maga zines. My grown up cars were a 1992 Toyota MR2, a 1995 RX-7 and (now) a 2004 RX-8 - my first new car! I've driven lots of foreign and domestic cars and I had problems with my BMW 525, my Chevy Nova, and yes, even my RX-8.

What we must remember is that even with the best built car, and the best owner maintenance sometimes your car falls into the hands of a mechanic who could use some more hands-on practice on someone else's car!

If you're not into cars, then I suggest something that will be flexible, reliable and comfortable for your clients: the Toyota Sienna. My husband drives one and it handles well, can carry kids or adults comfortably, and gets great gas mileage.  Yes, it costs more, but consider it an insurance payment for NOT finding yourself on the side of the road with mechanical trouble. The Sienna seats 8 adults. My husband uses the flexible seating to essentially convert the van into a carpeted, covered pickup bed for moving furniture, Christmas trees, boxes, etc.

(Okay. You caught me - I'M the one using it for furniture!)

Nissan Murano for me, roomy and allows handicapped to enter and exit with ease. My clients love it and I love it as well. Lower monthly insurance and not much more than a Sienna, as we all say you get what we pay for .

I just leased a 2008 Mercedes Benz GL 320 CDI, yes sort of bragging.  However, over the years I have had many different types of vehicles, as I am kind of a car guy.  I have gone from European to American to Japanese and I have never had anyone say anything about my car being foreign or American, by the way my new Mercedes was made in Alabama.

I am sure that it just doesn't matter in the big picture, simply because; if a client isn't going to work with you because of the make of your car then perhaps you should thank, whatever you believe in, that you didn't was a bunch of time on someone that is so narrow minded.

I leased the Mercedes through Fleetrates.com and I have a special relationship with one of the sales people there, let me know if you are interested.  I get 20,000 miles per year I paid nothing but the first payment up-front and the car was delivered to my door.

One Word "Fabulous"!

Bluetooth best option, key-less entry/start 2ND best option, fits 7 passengers and get 20 miles per gallon in town because it is a diesel, and should get better once it is broke in.  I have done my home work.  It is "Bluetech" so it is ultra low emissions, it doesn't sound like a diesel nor does it smell like one.

I spend a lot of time in my car on the phone, as we all do, and that phone thing is a really big deal.

I am a car and a Mercedes freak for at least 50 years.
I have followed the development of the MB diesel for the last 20 years. They have build more than 200 prototype diesel engines and by rotating the ignition chamber. I still have a 1984 turbo diesel in perfect condition with nearly 300,000 miles on it. Mercedes has discovered the ideal design and the result is the engine you are driving. Your engine do not need a turbo anymore, it is quiet, fast and it runs better than a gas engine.
Congratulation!

I prefer the older MB's, less computers, less problems. I have beside the old diesel, a 560 SEC from 1988, which is becoming a collector and a 90 sport.
