A few weeks ago a contributor suggested that in order to lessen the "blaze" of windows and bring in the outdoors without losing the interior to darkness you crank down the sensitivity of your camera to maximum darkness and crank up the flash to maximum brightness (putting flash on for all pics).  You see the exterior clearly through the windows, and the interior is nicely illuminated.  I have done this for almost all my interiors lately, and the results have been more than satisfactory - often even spectacular.  The one risk is that you might see unsatisfactory exterior events (like the infamous dog pics) clearly. Check the viewfinder before you punch the button.

Now I'm starting to play with variations (not quite so dark sensitivity or not so bright flash).  I thank the contributor, whoever she was.

Opinions different from mine are important, even though they are always wrong.

Let's say your at home. The listing is 30 miles away. It's 11:00pm and you
want to get your pictures in order to put in the listing early next day.
This is where Adobe Photo Elements is very useful. In the darkened area's
there usually is enough information to lighten them up using the enhance ,
lighting, shadows command.
