I bought a new computer just before the new year, and it included the free upgrade to Vista.  I originally had no intention of using the upgrade for three to six months, or at least until the first patch comes out.  I now find my Garmin doesn't synchronize with my new Windows XP Media Edition, so may need to update sooner than I had planned.  Has anyone upgraded to Vista yet?  I'm hoping to get some good news about it.

Don't upgrade to Vista unless you are certain that your MLS system is compatible. I just read that FNIS has stated that our Paragon MLS system is not yet compatible with Vista.

Not yet I want them to get through all the glitches first. Thanks for letting us know about Garmin though!

I bought a new computer Tuesday and it came with Vista. So far, my printer will not work with it, I cannot get it to work as wireless, I bought a new router and it was not compatible so I am waiting for tech help to arrive. I replaced the router today and it still doesn’t work. I thought about returning the computer and buying one without Vista, but was told that they are not selling any more without it. I’m frustrated! I’m really glad my old computer still works. Dorothy

Dorothy, Yours may be a simple solution of upgrading drivers for each of those items (printer, router, etc)....I am NOT a techie, and I have a guy that comes to fix what I can't.....almost anyone on RT knows more about computers than I do, but you may want to check your printer's web-site for driver upgrade...... who knows? it may be just that simple...

I just upgraded my main computer to Vista. I started the upgrade a 1 in the morning and it finally finished at 11 pm. I have lots of programs on my computer but I wasn’t expecting it to take 22 hours to upgrade.

Internet Explorer wouldn’t run and found a post that OmniPage was the culprit and sure enough, I removed that program and IE ran.

So far, I’m not impressed. It seems like it’s more sluggish than XP. I have 1 Gig of memory and a hefty processor too.

I just got one with Vista already installed.  A few issues so far, but it recognized all my printers and I only had to add two of the office printers.  Once I added the office printers, they installed automagically.

Top Producer works after some tweaking.  Turn off the popup blocker, download/Install the Microsoft VM, make Top Producer a 'Trusted' location, enable the console on Microsoft VM, restart.  Then it should load correctly.  If you already tried to get TP7i to run, then you have to go into the Internet Properties section of IE7 and delete temp files and history.

Some of the Nero software that came with a second DVD drive I added didn't work quite right (but guess what, if you pay for the latest version of Nero7 it's compatible with Vista) - I removed that piece of software and all's well with Nero (so far).

The software that came with the Gateway monitor insists that the settings have changed and tells me that I need to reinstall it.  I did, and it still insists.  I'll deal with the Gateway issue later.

If I have any further issues that can be resolved, I'll post them.

You're a brave man Keith! I would be wary of upgrading so early in the game. In fact our MLS (Paragon) is apparently not compatible with Vista and I understand Agent Office has problems also.

P.S.: Please send me your referrals. I will treat them like family - 25% happily paid for referrals up to $1million. 30% above $1million.
