Hi All,

Several people expressed difficulty creating a rule in Outlook for RealTalk e-mails, I hope this helps.

In Outlook2003, here is how it should be done…

Go to your ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Rules and Alerts’

Click ‘New Rule’

Select ‘Start from a Blank Rule’

Opt to ‘Check messages when they arrive’ then hit ‘Next’

In the Step 1 box, select ‘With specific words in the subject’

In the Step 2 box, click the term ‘specific words

When prompted to specify the specific words or phrases in the subject, type:  RealTalk:

*including the : and a <space> after RealTalk will increase the odds of the rule capturing only the e-mails from our RealTalk server.

Click ‘Add’ then ‘Okay’

Click ‘Next’ to tell these messages what to do

In the Step 1 box, choose the action for the message, most people would choose ‘move it to a specified folder’

In the Step 2 box, click ‘specified’ and create and/or select a folder for these messages to move to, then hit ‘Okay’

From here you can click ‘Finish’

Thank you,

Regarding "rules" for Outlook, seems the most accurate methid would be to create a contact called RealTalk, give the contact the email address RealTalk@RealTown.com, have a rule that places any emai from this contact in a special folder called "RealTalk".

Heck, Why not just right click the RT email and select “create rule” ?

As I have always said “right click is your friend”.

You will often find shortcuts under the right click menu structure.

I tried the right click and could not find anything to create a rule. I could move the one email to a folder but not as a rule.
My in box is inundated with Realtalk now since the change, nothing seems to work.
I have set the message rules the old fashion way through the menu but they keep poping up in the inbox. HELP
