As changes take place with technology, the Web and how consumers engage, interact and respond to the marketplace, real estate professionals looking to grow their brands and their careers must learn how to integrate the changes into their every day practice. More leads, more business, and more efficient use of your business resources are yours if you integrate some of the ideas and concepts presented in the National Association of REALTORS® Web 2.0/Social Media Online Course of Instruction.

If you still wonder whether Web 2.0 is something you need to be a part of, just look around you. Real estate has become deeply impacted and benefitted by Web 2.0, social media, and social networking (terms that describe the tools, websites, and software that help people connect and share). While social networking may have started as a way to stay connected with friends, its ability to connect you with consumers is proving invaluable. It's time to stop wondering and start participating.

The Course is now available online for $99. To learn more and to enroll go to http://narweb2course.com/About_Web20.aspx

(If you are an e-PRO, log in to the e-PRO site and save $20).

I'm looking forward to learning the in's & out's of this new Social Media concept.
It was amazing enough to have every media type used over the years such as the daily local news paper and television start giving a bit of a story or article of interest, as if a photo with a caption, then refer you to their website to get the full article, but now they are all having you check in with them on Twitter or FaceBook.
My friends are already sending requests to be accepted.
Security
One of my concerns was how quickly viruses used to spread through from system to system, then how identities were revealed and stolen because of "TMI" (too much information), now, these Social Networks seem to open the doors to your personal systems of personal identity information even further. It's as if I need to use one computer to do banking kinds of things, and another for this friend of a friend, of an acquaintance of a prospect kind of linking into my information system.
I'm expecting the course to help us see how and where to draw the line on safety when using the Internet within these new arenas.
