Hi everyone

RealTown Groups are gaining momentum!

Have you visited http://RealTown.com/Groups yet?! New groups are popping up every day, and our users LOVE them!

To get started, visit our list of public groups by going to http://RealTown.com and logging in. Once logged in, click the 'Groups' tab. You will now see a list of groups that have been created. To join a group, simply click the "Join Group" icon (you can see what each icon does by simply hovering over, descriptive text will appear). You can decide to receive or not receive e-mail(s) from the group(s) via the "My Subscriptions" menu on the left. You can receive notifications every time a new post or discussion is added to your group(s). Keep in mind you are unable to e-mail TO the groups, but each e-mail we send you will provide a link that will allow you to post a reply directly to the web.

What is a group?

A "Group" is a user created community that every member of RealTown has the ability to create. Discussions within a group can be started by any member of the group, comments will appear on the web and will also be sent out to members via e-mail if they choose. Groups can be any number of people discussing any topic(s). You can create a public group, or a private (invite only) group. Also, you can join any public groups that are already created!

How do I create my own group?

If you'd like to create your own group, you may click the "Create New Group" link in the groups menu on the right side of the screen. You will be prompted to name and describe your group. Once you have submitted this data, you will be brought to your "Manage Groups" page where you can manage all of the RealTown groups you have created. Clicking the "Edit Group" (pencil) icon will allow you to change a few more settings for your group. You can choose to make the group "Public" or "Private" to make it display or not display on RealTown's list of Groups. You can also choose to make the Group invite only-meaning only people you invite can join, or make the group public, so anyone who is interested in contributing to the group can join. As the Organizer of a group, you also have the option to delete or edit posts if you choose. You can also give this ability to other group members if you feel the need.

Feel free to look around and send us feedback at Admin@RealTown.com. Thanks!
