 FSBO's

I'm looking for some examples of MLS Rules and Regulations regarding FSBOs.  My agents, who are acting as buyers agents, want to make sure they get credit for a sale they are brokering.  Does anyone have any rules addressing entering FSBO's into the MLS once the sale is complete?

Since the property is/was not listed with your MLS, why do you think you should put it in after the sale?  If your agents are worried about "stats", shouldn't they keep their own.

Our Association of Realtors would allow my previous broker to submit production numbers to them from the office records (which kept tract of all sales, including FSBOs) at the end of each year and use that data for stats/awards, etc.

If the property wasn't listed in the MLS to begin with, I definitely wouldn't attempt to put it in after the fact.  That would appear to give an inaccurate perception of MLS sales/inventory,etc.

...just my 2cents worth.

If the property wasn't listed than I don't think it should be entered upon a sale just so the agent can get credit as the selling agent.  I would think this would promote pocket listings and make it harder for the MLS people to track down agents that are not entering their listing in a timely manner.  Just would create more problems than it's worth.  Sharon
