I am wondering what website(s) would be helpful in keeping up with what the government is proposing regarding upcoming tax credits for homebuyers once the first time homebuyer tax credit expires.
The WSJ articles usually have information that is already law. For proposals and issues in the works it might be good to check the websites of your local congressional representatives.

I agree that WSJ is a great source of all kinds of economic news. For this specific topic, I would bet on www.realtor.org being right on top of the vote.
Here is the government website that discribes the extended and expanded tax credit. http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=204671,00.html. It now also includes homeowners who have been in their home for at least 5 years and who want to buy a new residence.
