 BPO Agents needed

Not for banks! This is a bit of an unusual request. I'm about ready to publish a new book on "How to Reduce Your Property Taxes" (both print and ebook). One of my recommendations in the book is that an excellent source of data for your tax challenge is a knowledgeable Realtor in the area. Just from preliminary promotion of the upcoming publishing, I have been asked repeatedly how to find the right Realtor to do this and what will it cost.

So it seemed like this would be the best place to establish a national network of experienced agents, willing to perform a "market analysis" similar to a BPO but with the purpose of providing the property owner with good solid information to mount their challenge. Depending upon your local market a fee to do this might run from $75 to $150. If the property owner's initial challenge is denied and they ultimately end up in front of a Valuation Adjustment Board or similar entity, there could be additional income opportunities for you to appear and testify at a hearing. (solid gold on your background resume if you have testified as an expert).

I believe there are property taxes in all 50 states, so I think we will need agents from all 50 states. If this is something you would be interested in doing, please send me an email with a brief summary of experience and cities and counties in your state you would be interested in covering.

Thank you in advance for your interest.

I absolutely agree that there is a need for this. Central Texas has certainly not experienced the same kind of market disruption that Florida, California, Arizona, and Nevada have seen, but municipal authorities have been in search of ways to maintain or expand revenues, and property valuations are a prime target.

I routinely offer to help my clients with property tax protests every year. Most years I get a handful of requests for comps. In 2009 it was dozens -- including my own for the first time. In most cases, armed with credible, well explained market data, my clients gained substantial ground compared to initially proposed values.

This is undoubtedly a valuable service for our clients and local property owners in general, and great source of future prospects.

I don't see the original post, but I'm assuming that someone is looking for BPO agents. I have been doing BPO's for almost 2 years and this year my income is more from BPO's than from closings (which are 50% REO's). So if you need a broker in Central MA, please feel free to get in touch. I go approximately one hour out from Worcester area. Thanks. Jane
