Just read John's insights into maintaining customers loyalty.

Great information. So often we get so worked up about the new technologies or pursuing Internet lead generation, we forget about how this business like all sales businesses is still about "People to People." Sometimes, the simple things like a short hand-written note, even if you have handwriting like mine, can be an extremely effective tool. Today, it seems that we are even getting hard pressed to make a quick call to just check-in and be sure that everything is OK for a past client.

Great article and as everyone knows it is easier to get referrals and more business from past clients than to try to get new ones.

I like the handwritten note idea, but I also add them to my database to keep up with the market. If I have the listing, and another agent sells it, I often keep in touch with them as well since the likelihood of their agent doing it is nil.

I've sold houses to people who thought I was their original agent because I kept in touch and their agent didn't.

john , great article the more technology savvy we become, the less we make a place for personal touch. the 10 ways also speaks volume to the client of the caring of the agent. also tells the client that i am professoinal, and will make sure your needs are met in all area of realestate because i care about you and your family.

I can't agree more with your 10 points. The one I feel really needs to be made solid is you must set up an auto system to stay in contact with your clients or it will not happen. Some clients need weekly, some monthly, some quarterly and some twice a year. But you must have a system that is fail proof. What type of system do you use and what other types of systems would you recommend.
