I wouldn't recommend e-pro. It is a time consuming, very tedious, archaic means of communicating and teaching about technology. When I signed up, I thought there would be videos with audio components, interactive lessons or at least some live webcasts. This course could be taught with a book and be no less boring. Save your $350.00 and get some tutoring from a High schooler instead!
I'm sorry your experience with e-Pro wasn't what you thought. I thought it was very informative. I liked the fact that I could go through the course at my pace and in my own good time. The course offered many places to visit to get additional information. I thought I I could moved around well on the internet, but this course really showed me how to manuver and gave me valuable information. I would recommend the course to anyone who wants more information on the internet and doesn't need active interaction. Although the course does give you many resources to get any type of interaction you need.
I am also sorry you feel this way about E-pro. I am just finishing the course. In the last year I have dedicated my business to new technology and even hired an IT specialist. This course has helped me re-focus on the basics and prioritize my goals.
It has also made me go back and check all our media to make sure it is accurate and we have maximized all pictures and lead generation opportunities. I noticed you did not have your photo posted. I learned from the e-pro course that pictures are very important and asking my clients they said it is important to them to be able to put a picture to a voice or e-mail. This makes them feel comfortable.
That alone is worth the time and effort it has taken for me to complete the course. Just using the course as a checklist has already generated a large ammount of business for us. We are excited now to put into action our 12 & 24 month plans.
I highly recommend this course to anyone want to do business today with an eye on tomorrow.

My experience with the ePro class has been far different from yours. Sometimes, when we're in a negative thought pattern, nothing looks good. True, you could have gotten the technical material from a book, but where the value was, at least for me, was in the resources that are available now to make the job of a real estate agent easier: Relay® and $50 virtual tours and Lowe's benefit plan for realtors and all the other great ideas that are available from NAR would never have been offered to you from a non-realtor course or book. I have been a full-time real estate agent for over 35 years, so you can imagine how routine this "job" can be for me, and yet I was amazed at all the great opportunities for making my life easier that have been sitting there, under my radar, all this time. It literally took me years to finally activite this class that I paid for when the ePro people FIRST came to St. Louis because I could not see the value in it. I truly hope things shift for you so you can see the value as well.

Mary,
I have quite a bit of technology background. I've worked with Outlook for a large international corporation, written custom databases, created from scratch HTML web pages, etc. etc. Some of the information I've even taught, but here I'm able to learn the background and understand why I have been able to do what I've done. I also like working at my own pace. I printed out the pages and read through them when I have an hour, highlighting key information, then go back online and scan through each page again, making sure that I've picked up information.
I hope you'll give it another try. (The first pages were very hard to get into, but I'm zooming through the rest.)
Good luck,

Your points are well taken that technology has advanced beyond the epro class. It might seem obselete for a tech person. There are times I too would prefer to have the video/audio lessons, but the fact that one has to actually read and interact requires full interaction and engagement- thus real hands on learning for the large majority, instead of just glossing over it.
Our backgrounds and points of entrance into technology are so varied. My my only regret was that this wasn't offered/presented in my Real estate licensing class or company training. The amount of time and random searching that I engaged in was an absolute, fruitless waste. (Loss of efficient marketing time too-) Although I would ask fellow agents for suggestions, I was searching aimlessly.
The amount of information "out there" is so overwhelming, it was a relief for me to have some structure and a directed means of presentation. I already had a free company website, but now knowing what's tchnologiacally available, I can better select a web designer and develop a productive site based on more intelligent Q&A. I know what I am looking to achieve in my site. Doing the class at my pace was a bonus, too. That's the beauty of online training.
Bottom line...If you have a strong tech background, the epro class may not be for you, but depending on your objectives, there are many in the field that can still benefit.
I found epro to be a lot more informative than I thought but also a lot more in depth than I believed as well. It is a lot of information and I plan to print out the directory of information and keep it for my records to return to.
I hope that I am able to retain most of this information as it is a lot!!!
