Q: How can I link to my blog from my website?

A: If you would like to place a link to your blog on your website, the URL you'll need is as follows:

http://RealTown.com/UserName/Blog

My username is 'CustomerService' so my blog URL is http://RealTown.com/CustomerService/Blog

If you would like to create a link on your blog to your website (the other way around) go to http://RealTown.com and login. Once logged in, click the 'My Blog' link on the right side of your My RealTown Dashboard. Once in your Blog Manager, click the 'General Settings' link on the left side of the screen under 'Configure'. Once in your General Settings section, scroll down to the part that reads 'Favorite Links' and click the 'Click here to add a new favorite link' link. In the first field, name the link. This is the text visitors to your blog will see. You can name it 'My Website' or 'MyWebsite.com' or anything you want. In the next field, input the URL to your website (http://www.MyWebsite.com) then click 'Add Link'. The link will be added to the 'Favorite Links' section of your blog immediately upon confirmation your changes have been saved.

Sorry guys!  The 'My Blog' button is on the LEFT side of your My RealTown dashboard, not the right...  Sorry if this caused any confusion!!!

Hi,

This is the first time I've ever replied to a blog. I'm close to finishing my e-pro today!  I have to reply to a post as part of the assignment, plus I really need to start practicing!  This is the thread that most interested me since I do have questions about this topic.  I have a Point2 website and I know it's somehow connected with RealTalk, so I was wanting to know if I create a blog here, will it or can I get it to connect to my site.  Do I have to put a link on my website?  I think that is my understanding, but I want to make sure.  Also, can we use some of the articles that we find on the Realtown website as post to our blogs?

Thanks!

Hi,
There is a Blog integrated into Point 2 sites so there is no need to link to a new one unless you really want to. Wordpress is our favorite and the themes and design can become "part" of your website. With regard to "copying" other posts...we advise against that tequnique as it is not unique content and that is what the search engines are looking for...it may do you far more harm than good. Write you own postings or change the posting you like to fit your needs ...

This looks like a simple process.  You can enter the site for uploading to your website and enter your url for your blog as a site to view or go to the home page and type- http://realtown.com/(enteryourusername)/blog .  By clicking on the address you have created it should take anyone right to your blog.  Now entere your website address in your Blog and you have a two way street.  Good Luck!

Ashley,

I just printed your instructions on how to link my website to a blog (and vice versa) that I would like to create soon. There are so many RealTalk and other internet related tasks that I will want to try out after having taken the EPro course. That includes signing up for the free website with Point2Agent.

The EPro course has provided a wealth of new ideas and techniques. I will just need some time to sort through all the email and website opportunities and review. I feel quite overwhelmed and definitely see the need to improve my tech skills in order to become more competative.

Thanks so much to the whole team at Internet Crusaders.

Ute Miller, Realtor in Pittsburgh North Hills, Pennsylvania
