The Sarasota real estate inventory levels are declining as buyers scoop up lower priced home in a city where it is warm year round. Sarasota’s beaches, cultural amenities and overall tropical environment bring buyers to this South West Florida city from all over the world.
Waterfront areas of the barrier island are popular now that priced have declined but that won’t be for long as inventory dwindles. Siesta Key Beach has seen a rise in popularity since May when it was named as the second best beach in the United States on the 2009 Dr. Beach’s 10 Best Beaches in America list. The Sarasota MLS shows 74 single family homes have sold on Siesta Key in the last six months indicating increased activity. Bird Key, another barrier island had homes sales of 18 in the same period. Sarasota’s most pristine barrier island, Longboat Key had homes sales totaling 37. To the South of Sarasota, Casey Key’s private beach community which is home to many celebrities and properties all over a million dollars reported 5 sales from $1,075,000 to $6,200,000.
