<p> Two thoughts on the BCS Championship. One, it would have been great to have USC there. From what I saw of the USC bowl game there offense is superior to Oklahoma and Florida. Two, the game is kind of anti-climatic being so far into the new year. The should try to move it closer to January 1. That being said it was a pretty good game and congratulations to Florida on being national champs. </p>

<p> After the Chargers beat the Colts in OT there was the usual talk about whether the NFL should change the overtime rules to be more like college where each offense has an opportunity to score. I say keep the overtime rules the way they are. The team that gets the ball first in OT doesn&#39;t automatically win (I think the statistics are close to 50-50) Also I don&#39;t think its a good scenario when a college game goes into overtime and each team scores multiple times and then they are required to go for two after the third score. </p> <p> So Peyton Manning didn&#39;t get a chance in OT because he didn&#39;t win the game during regulation and the Colts defense failed to stop the Chargers. And that&#39;s the way it should be. </p>

<p> Can the Chargers beat the Colts? Yes but probably not. I see the Colts putting more pressure on Rivers than Denver did and causing some turnovers. I also don&#39;t see the Chargers coming back if they go down by two scores or more. That said if SD can protect the quarterback I think they have a good chance of pulling out a win. </p>

<p> Do you know anyone in professional sports? I know one guy from my high school soccer team, Jeff Geary who pitches for the Astros. I think he had a pretty good era this season. I was a much better soccer player than he was but apparently soccer wasn&#39;t his only sport. </p>

<p> I think the NFL has finally awoken to the fact that their league is under attack by...Moms.!! That&#39;s why we are seeing the latest rash of fines and suspensions designed to get rid of rough play. The talent pool is drying up as more and more healthy young boys clutching their moms apron strings as they are dragged to soccer fields or volleyball courts! Gads. &quot;I don&#39;t want my little Johnny being mugged on that football field.&quot;, they shout. And Goodell hears it.. So, it is on to the sissification of the game so Mom&#39;s will allow the boys to do what they really want to do...Play Football..!! Could this be true, what is your opinion..?? </p>

<p> I&#39;d like to see a stat with goal line stands this year compared to last. It&#39;s seems like there are a lot of instances this year when a team is 1st and goal and does not get into the end zone. The Cowboys denied the Steelers on Sunday, Carolina stopped the Bucs on Monday, and early in the season the Jets could not convert from the 2 yard line against the Chargers. </p>

<p> The answer is the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately my crystal ball doesn&#39;t show who is representing the AFC. </p>

<p> Maybe someone can help me out with this, I am trying to figure out the NFL players that go off on ridiculous on field celebrations after a simple routine play. A play they are supposed to make, a play they are paid lots of money to make, a play that years ago a pro would just pick himself up and walk back to his teammates, no jumping around or dancing to bring attention to himself. Mostly it is defensive players that have been useless on the previous 5 or 6 plays and then he finally makes a play and goes off on some embarrassing rant showing the world its all about him, to see it you would think he just scored the game winning touchdown. Could use the Lions as an example, no players on that team should be jumping around for any reason, but I will leave them alone. One good example is on my local team the Patriots, the secondary on the Pats is dreadful and Mr. wanna-be Ellis Hobbs is the perfect example for this issue. He just gets beat time and time again, but every now and then he will make a play and when he does he just goes nuts, dancing and jumping around, just making a fool out of himself. Anyway, am I the only one that has a problem with this, am I missing something with this issue. Please comment, help me out with this if you can, I just need to understand why... </p>

<p> The end of Monday&#39;s nights game between the 49ers and Cardinals was unbelievable. How do you not run a passing play? And if you run a running play you need to spread out the defense a little. Having just one receiver is hard to explain. I thought the first running play wasn&#39;t a good call but the second was about as bad as it gets. </p>

<p> Do the excessive amount of commercials during football games make it difficult or interfere with our attempt to enjoy the game.? With so much down time injected by the networks to satisfy their needs, how is the fan expected to develop a flow of the game when over 50% of airtime is commercials. Kickoff, then go to commercial, score, then go to commercial, extra point, then go to commercial, kickoff again, then go to commercial, on and on and on, for the entire game. The players don&#39;t say much about it due to the awareness of how it affects their enormous salaries, and they are so used to it now, but it still must cause some interruption of game flow. Does anyone else have a comment on this topic.? </p>

<p> I have a feeling Philly is going to wrap it up tonight. I think the Ray&#39;s magic is gone. Hopefully they get the game in. </p>

<p> The Colts Titans game last night was a pretty good game but can someone tell me how a kicker cannot kick the ball ten yards on a onside kick. Odds are that it&#39;s not going to be successfull so at least kick it far enough. The Chargers had the same issue earlier in the season. </p>

<p> Is it just me or have the number of injuries in the NFL this season been on the rise.? Understand that injuries are a part of the NFL, but the number of players sidelined or placed on the IR each week appears to be a bit more excessive than average. Before monday nights game with Denver the Patriots put Laurence Maroney on the IR ending his season. Then during the game the Pats Sammy Morris is lost with an injury and later in the 3rd Rodney Harrison is carted off the field with a season ending injury. Not to mention the players Denver lost to injury during this game. Maybe its just me, but i&#39;m thinking the injury bug is running wild through the league.. </p>

<p> Are you kidding me! 7-7 in the bottom of the ninth. Crisp&#39;s at bat in the eight was truly remarkable. I can only imagine what it is like to be a Boston fan. </p>

<p> It&#39;s great watching the Rays take Boston apart. Even though I was hoping for a Dodgers Red Sox matchup its entertaining watching a young team beat up on a successful franchise like Boston. The game was practically over after the first inning.<br /> <br /> It&#39;s looking like a Philadelphia Tamp Bay world series. I&#39;m sure the tv executives wanted exactly the opposite. Having the LA and Boston markets is probably a whole lot better. But then again who really cares about the tv networks. </p>
