Home sales rise for first time since 2006

for those looking to put their homes on the market the uptick in home sales is very encouraging. It remains to be seen if this increase in sales was entirely the product of the tax rebate program for first time buyers.

The uptick in home prices may be indicating a bottom in the housing market. Procrastinators, who have been waiting to buy hoping for prices to go down, need to move now or face the possibility of missing the bottom.

Sales of existing single family homes in Toms River, NJ, increased by 22% in July 2009 (over July 2008). This marked the first time this year we have seen an increase in sales over the same time last year.
