Coins for Kids |
It is that time of year again! I can't believe that 2009 is almost over. It seems like only yesterday we were shopping and decorating for Christmas and here it is the Christmas season once again. I almost think it would be worth leaving my Christmas tree and all of the decorations up all year instead of taking them down and then putting them right back up! I ran into some people I know at the Jubilee of Trees last week and they told me that they had won one of the trees from the Jubilee a few years ago and that is exactly what they did. The tree was so beautiful and was so heavy that they left it up all year. If only my husband and all of my friends would be understanding that I haven't lost my mind, I would leave the tree up! But that is just not going to happen!
Anyway, it IS that time of year again, and I just wanted to let the Washington County community know that Coins for Kids is busy getting ready to shop, wrap, and deliver Christmas presents to thousands of less fortunate children in our great community. This is such a huge endeavor and it takes hundred of volunteers to make it successful. WE NEED your help!! Please visit our website and see what activities we have planned and try to fit one or two into your holiday schedule. You will not only be helping make Christmas brighter for lots of children, but it will put you in the Christmas mood too.
If you can't volunteer your time. then maybe you can make a donation. We accept cash, checks, credit cards, or you can adopt a deserving family and provide them with a wonderful Christmas this year. There are so many young families who have been affected by the downturn in our economy and are having a tough time providing shelter and food for their children, let alone provide Christmas presents for their family. See you in December!!
