Great in 2008 |
Like countless others, I suppose, I’m both excited and over-whelmed by the opportunities of the New Year. And also like countless others, I’m heeding Saul’s advice and resolving to blog in 2008. If to know me is to love me, then all those buyers and sellers out there who don’t know me yet, need to so they can’t help but send me their business. My trepidation with blogging is rooted in the words of my mother who chastened me never to commit to writing what I didn’t want seen by all. I’m resolved to be careful about that and to refrain at all costs from embarrassing myself. My curiosity about blogging is rooted in the question of, “Are my thoughts that riveting?” My dread of blogging is my perception that it’s like getting a puppy. It needs constant attention, sometimes gets out of hand and is a life long commitment (the blog’s, not mine).
All that being said, I plan to attack 2008 with enthusiasm, writing down my business goals, my personal goals and jumping right in with getting both underway. In a way I dread all I’ve cooked up to do to make sure my business in 2008 exceeds 2007. In a way I’m excited to see just how much control I really have when setting my mind to these goals. The whole 2008 experiment begins with me stepping out of my comfort zone. I will, therefore, blog. I figure if I just do it, then all those questions of how to link it to my website, how to get buyers and sellers to read it and how to make it relevant to them will become clear.
I am pretty much awed by how articulate and interesting others who blog are! I learn a lot from you and since your blogs don’t seem like your personal diary, I hope mine won’t. I want to be as encouraging and informative as you are. It’s funny. I’m a singer and singing before hundreds at a concert or on national TV is not intimidating to me. Blogging is!
I’ve got my plan and I’m all over it. If my blogging gets out of hand, you can always e-mail me and tell me to simmer down. Otherwise, blogging is one of the tools I’m using to ensure that my 2008 will be great! I hope yours is, too.
