Helping out with the Carolina Empowerment Group

In recognition of the 2007 World AIDS Day, Chicks with Checks and Carolina Empowerment Group are hosting a World Premiere viewing party for the MTV 48Fest Kenya television program. The film will showcase Charleston's Natalia Cales, executive director of Carolina Empowerment Group, participating in the MTV film challenge while attending the YWCA World Council Meeting on HIV/AIDS among women in Nairobi, Kenya, during July 2007. The pre-screening party begins at 6:30 tonight and showtime is at 7:30 p.m. at The Terrace Theater, 1956 Maybank Highway in Charleston. Tickets are $25 for members of the Carolina Empowerment Group; $35 for non-members. Admission includes red carpet arrival and cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres.
