The Tablet PC is a computer that is similar to a laptop in some ways, but is dramatically different in other very important ways. First, the tablet PC is pen-enabled. This means you can write on the screen. For example, you can fill out and collect valid e-signatures on listing agreements, purchase offers and other real estate forms just like you would using a pen and paper. Second, almost all tablet PCs are wireless enabled. This means that you can get your email, surf the Web or access the MLS from anywhere - even a client's living room - without having to use a normal wired Internet connection.
It's like a desktop, laptop, PDA and pad and paper combined in one device. The tablet gives you the power to create truly amazing emails and respond immediately.

Thanks all for your ideas on Tablet PC's and being able to email directly without having to scan in the contracts. I ended up trying PDF Annotator before I got any feedback and it works great. I may also try the other products and see the differences. I did not like Journal since there was no way to lock. Once I save the paperwork from the new program it locks and cannot be edited further. Again thanks all.

Want to buy a Tablet SOON and want to know pros and cons - Nov. 22, 2006 |
| Posted by Rachel Huls |
I presently have a laptop and use Windows Xp Pro, Office, etc. and live and breathe with my Audiovox PPC 6600. I would like to get a Tablet in the upcoming weeks and am concerned with purchasing something and not having software that works with my real estate business. I've heard there are glitches. Don't want to be a guinea pig myself and don't know anyone personally with a Tablet. I'd love to hear the pros and cons, get a recommendation on brand, model, etc.
Thanks!

I purchased a convertable laptop tablet. It's a Lenovo x60. I like the benefits of a very light laptop plus the tablet funcionality. This laptop weighs about 4 pounds including the battery.
I take handwritten notes on the tablet and have clients sign contracts and listing agreements.
If you're in the market to buy a tablet, consider all the choices and go with the model you feel best suits your needs. As long as you use it, it will help your business!
