Best PC for RealEstate - May. 9, 2007

Jim Clauser said: "I don't know why any Realtor buying a laptop would not go for a tablet, regardless of the brand. (mine is a gateway) Today I met some clients to sign a counter offer and when I got there I realized I left the file on my desk. No problem! Captain Tablet here! Opened up the counteroffer on my tablet, they signed right on screen, the home had wireless internet and the counter offer was at my office, the listing office, attorney and lender by the time my car door closed. Plus the wow factor with my clients...."

I agree. I also have a Gateway and carry the tablet everywhere along with my HP 460 battery operated printer. It is great to be able to do a contract anywhere, have everyone sign, then email it to all parties, and even print out a hard copy for the clients. If more had tablets there would rarely be a need for multiple dirty faxes.

New Gateway Tablet - Jan. 25, 2007

I recently purchased a Gateway tablet PC and just love it! The cost was
somewhat higher than a regular notebook, but I've found that the trade-off
in capturing signatures and portability have been well worth it. Does anyone
know of a source for affordable replacement pens? The only stylus that works
with the tablet screen is the one that came with the computer and I'd like
to have a spare available in case I lose the first one!

My new laptop - Dec. 4, 2006

After reading, studying, driving sales forces crazy I finally ordered my laptop yesterday.  I went with the Gateway Tablet.  Toshiba was their competition, and in reading reviews they both had good and bad reviews.

Toshiba was $400.00 higher on the exact same system. The one thing I do like about gateway is  their support staff is in the United States

I  even went as far as to make a service call to Gateway and to Toshiba = with a problem and said I could not find my id number.  Both were helpful, but gateway went out of the way to help.  Now the hard part, waiting two weeks to get it!

I looked at Best buys and places but their pre built systems were always missing something I wanted.  Bluetooth, right size hard drive, to small processor or something.

Setting up to use Winforms - Aug. 25, 2006

Hi all,

Does anyone have any suggestions for being able to use the Gateway tablet with Winforms so that clients and I can sign docs on the tablet?

Barbara Safran

Sure.  Type up the winform offer.  Choose FILE|PRINT then scroll to JOURNAL NOTE WRITER, highlight, click PRINT. JNW opens, it prompts you to save the document then you can highlight, or sign or both.  Choose FILE|PRINT then scroll to ADOBE PDF (or other similar program), highlight, click PRINT. Email signed document to appropriate parties.

Works with anything on your computer.

Gateway From Best Buy - Apr. 25, 2006

I just purchased the Gateway a couple of weeks ago from Best Buy
on sale with the 3 year warranty for around $1,700. What my husband
and I like about it - Ease of use, price was right, no clips for
closing to break (uses a magnet feature like Apple), 7 in 1 card
reader, and has a "ledge" on the bottom that either makes for a great
hand hold as a tablet or to elevate the screen when a laptop. It does
take some getting used to when you come from a laptop and can now
touch the screen. The warranty we purchased includes replacement of
the screens if need be.
