My recommendation is the Acer - Jul. 9, 2006

Having gone through the gambit of PC companies over the past 20 years, my current favorite is Acer.  I currently have one of their tablets for business and a laptop for my son's home use.

I agree that Acer has great tech support.  When I first set up my tablet with my Verizon card, I had some problems.  Between Acer and Verizon, we were able to resolve the issue, and the Acer tech's attitude was refreshing in that he genuinely wanted to help me resolve the issue.

I don't have any experience with Acer desktops, but would appreciate feedback from someone who does.

My husband and I each have Acer laptops and love them. Their tech support has been terrific. I had to send the laptop in for repair once and they forgot to re-attach the speakers.  I called them and they had me send my laptop back again that afternoon (on a Tuesday) and I had it back in my hands by 10am Thursday morning. Anyone can make a mistake, it's how they handle it that makes a difference to me. They've always been terrific.

I like the Toshiba R15 a little more pricy than some but works like a champ. Have had it or a few months with no problems.  I like it much but buy what you can afford most are pretty good but get lots of memory and also the extended warrenty just incase you are prone to drop things like me.
