The Factcheck Wire on Factcheck.org explains the scam behind these "Free Money" ads that are popping up all over the place, like on Facebook and the New York Times web site. Repeat after me, "If it's looks too good to be true, it's too good to be true!".

Giant Food stores will give free generic antibiotics to customers with a prescription for the next three months in what retail experts called an aggressive move in supermarkets' heated battle for shoppers.

While I hope no one I know needs to take advantage of this, it's certainly worth remembering over the next three months.

Ten years ago, Kevin Kelly wrote an excellent book called "New Rules for the New Economy". Here's an excerpt of what he has to say about the book:

The thesis of New Rules for the New Economy is that we are now living in an economy based on ideas and communication rather than energy and atoms. Further, this "new" economy has distinct laws or rules so it behaves differently than the previous industrial economy. To do well in the new regime, we need to grasp the new dynamics of information.
