Stephen Foster Crime Alert:

There were two vehicle burglaries that occurred in your neighborhood and another that occurred in the area of NW 39^th Ave and NW 13^th St.  They were all instances where a window was smashed to gain entry and GPS units were stolen from the interior.  I have attached a flyer with this email.  Can you please pass it along via your email list to the other residents in your area and ask that they in turn spread the word to their neighbors.  The key piece of advice would be to continue locking up your vehicles and secure all of your belongings so they are not visible to anyone looking for a quick smash and grab.  If you happen to see any suspicious activity, please call it into dispatch immediately.  Thank you in advance,

Oct. 30, 2008 - Recent smash and grab burglaries

Officer Harry Young has informed me that there have been several recent smash and grab burglaries of vehicles in the neighborhood.  He asked me to remind everyone to avoid leaving valuables in your vehicles, or in plain sight.

Oct. 30, 2008 - Special workshop re Koppers future Land Use/clean-up

Fellow Neighbors,

At the November 6 City Commission meeting, the City Manager consent agenda includes a request from city staff to schedule a special workshop re Koppers future Land Use/clean-up standards level.

After reading the explanation included in the agenda package, I am very concerned about the present mindset of city staff, and their seeming unwillingness to vigorously pursue a residential land use cleanup requirement--which would only serve to further entrench the existing use.

This (the special workshop meeting) is extremely important for the future welfare the Stephen Foster neighborhood--my guess is that it will not happen until after the first of the new year-- I will keep everyone up to date on this.
