A Storm is brewing

Just before Christmas I had to invest in the latest technology so I traded my Blackberry Curve for the Storm. It is almost everything they say it is...just a little slower than they lead you to believe. The touch screen is amazing and fun to work. However, I am having trouble setting the sensitivity to work best for me. It seems that when I touch a function I have to touch it twice to get that function to open or change. That becomes a little annoying at times.

I use Verizon Wireless service and am very pleased with that. The Storm still has some bugs that need to be cleaned up before I will be able to rave about it. I am able to synchronize my Agent Office database and calender very easily. That is a plus. I can read most email attachments and browse the Internet. It's just that darn sensitivity that drives me crazy. Any other comments or suggestions would be welcomed.

I traded my Treo 700p for the Blackberry Storm and have the same issue with the sensitivity. I've adjusted it twice trying to get the sensitivity right for me; it's better but still not to my liking. Because of the sensitivity issue I'm slow in texting because its easy to make mistakes and I'm hoping in time I will improve as I get more used to it. I was fast at texting on my Treo qwert keyboard. But I'm pleased I get my email immediately and the sync with Outlook is much faster and easier. I love the larger screen for reading email and web surfing.

Thank you for sharing this information. I traded my Treo for the BB Curve in July 08 and I love it. Now that I am in love with BB I was hoping to see more tips on the BB line, I am very interested in the Storm and may be upgrading in the future. Do you or anyone else have any more tips they would like to share?

I hate my Blackberry Storm. I find it impossible to press the correct letters when e-mailing. It forever is slow switching from the phone to the main screen. Maybe it is me. Any suggestions?

I just did the latest software upgrade (v4.7.0.148) to the BB Storm yesterday. The sensitivity is real sweet now. I don't have to touch a function 2 & 3 times. The camera is very usable now. Before it was non existant. There are many new and different changes and upgrades some I have found many I have not yet.

The technical support staff at Verizon is outstanding. They will spend as much time with you as you need to get your problem solved. After the first day with the new upgrade I have to say, it is the difference of night and day.

Call your Verizon technical support and have them help you get the updates. It took about an hour to download. They told me it would take 2 hours. It will help you like the Storm much more.

I am new to this discussion group. I too love my Blackberry Storm, hate the sensitivity, very slow at text and emails as I think I must have exceptionally large fingers and can never hit the right letter.

I have found that if you CLOSE any open programs you can speed up the reaction time considerably - Hold down the Blackberry key and a bar will pop up that shows you what programs are currently open. click on what that you are not currently using and open it up. Click the Blackberry key again and on the drop down menu click on CLOSE to really close the program. I am amazed at how many programs are running that i thougth I had closed.

Hope that helps.

Blackberry Storm 2

I am about to upgrade from an old Blackberry 7520 to the new Blackberry Storm 2. I am curious if anyone knows if the Storm 2 and the Supra eKey fob are compatible? Supra says that the Storm 2 is not a supported phone yet since it is so new, but since it uses the same operating system as the original Storm, I hope it will work with the key fob. If anyone has all ready tried this, please let me know.

Update - I bought the Storm 2 and downloaded the Supra software for it. Everything works fine with the Storm 2 and I love the phone.
