MAPLE SUGAR FESTIVAL 2008

11:00 am – Pancake breakfast
$6 Adults, $5 Seniors and 6-12, $1 under 6 (pancakes served until all are fed)
 
12:00 pm – Pancake Eating Contest
12:30 pm – Melba Wrisley, Sonja Aubin, Marilyn Cross reading from Growing Up Strong
1:00 pm - Talkers Tent: Stories of Traditional Maple Sugaring in the Adirondacks. This performance is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), a state agency.
1:00 pm - Maple Dessert Contest judging
2:00 pm - Maple Dessert Tasting $2
2:00 pm - Beard Contest results

Maple Dessert Contest
Any and all desserts are welcome: pastries, cakes, puddings, cookies, pies and more. The only requirement is that real maple syrup be used, preferably Adirondack syrup, in the creation of the dessert. Bring your maple dessert creation to the Maple Sugar Festival by noon on Saturday, April 5. Entries should be protected from the elements, enclosed in either a cooler or other secure container. Each entry must be accompanied by a Contest Entry Form. Entries will be judged by an assigned number, three categories: Child – up to age 12, Youth – ages 12-17, Adult – age 18 and over. There is a limit of one entry per person. The Grand Prize Winner‘s dessert will be featured at the Deer’s Head Inn the following week.
