"On an island, we're all related. Whether we like to think so or not." The constant tension between locals and "outsiders" -- the term island natives use for mainlanders -- is the backbone for this powerful story about a lobsterman whose hot-headed actions have devastating consequences. Islander captures the true spirit of a rural community.

Lead Actor, Screenwriter, and Producer of this movie, Thomas Hildreth grew up in Maine and spent his summers on the island of Vinalhaven, the location for the film. A member of the Classical Theater Lab in Los Angeles and a veteran of The Williamstown Theatre Festival, he has appeared in the world premiers of plays by Arthur Miller and John Guare, among many others.
