• Feb. 18, 2008 - Willsboro Sliding Hill

We went to the sliding hill in Willsboro Sunday evening and had a great time. The snow was packed and plentiful; however, when we returned on Monday afternoon, the snow showed the affects of the warm temperatures. The snow had melted so much, bare spots on the hill were seen. The snow was very wet and, when you walked across, you saw water forming in your footprints in the snow. Below is a picture of the hill taken Monday afternoon.

• Apr. 30, 2007 - Firedog Contest: Vote for Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department

Below is a notice I received and wanted to share with all of you:

Hello Everyone-

Please take a moment to read the following email(s) and vote! I'm sure many of you remember the drowning accident in the river last summer when Mark Dragoon lost his life in the Ausable River, just a mile above the chasm. Aubrey and I were neighbors of the Dragoon family for several years on Lake Shore Rd, West Chazy, before moving to Peru. They are one of nicest families (and great neighbors) we have ever known and feel for their loss. Mark's dad Thomas Dragoon is requesting our vote for the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department through a contest sponsored by Firedog/Circuit City. The KVFD is one of 10 finalists in America for their efforts following Mark's accident last summer. PLEASE...take a moment and vote for the KVFD. Each vote gives a dollar to the department (up to $250k) and the winning department will get $100k. The KVFD can greatly benefit from your vote - please do so now, it will only take a few seconds.

Thank You,
Tim Bresett
General Manager

Note: Final judging of the 10 finalists to determine the one (1) Grand Prize winner will be conducted via www.firedog.com from 4/28/2007 through 5/13/2007, where consumers will be allowed one (1) vote each for the firehouse they feel has demonstrated the most significant "service to the community." Grand Prize will be announced on or around 05/14/2007.
