The general consensus on lead generation companies is that a select few may work, the majority don't, and your money is better spent elsewhere.
As you might suspect, those who participate in the communities are asked about lead generation companies frequently. Those enrolled in the e-PRO certification course typically have a basic knowledge of technology and the Internet. They know that 90% of consumers begin their search for a home online. So for a new agent, the task of building a business is a challenge. The lead generation companies know this and target new agents who are looking for an easy way out. However, the bottom line is that it takes time, proper capitalization, hard work, determination, dedication and a love of working with people to become a successful REALTOR. Perhaps that's why 20% of the agents do 80% of the business.
If you want to be successful in the real estate business, there is no magic bullet or shortcut. But you don't have to reinvent the wheel. You have to be willing to walk the walk and talk the talk. Your money is best spent on creating a sound business plan, incorporating what you have learned in the e-PRO course into that plan and promoting yourself in every way possible. In the end, the product is you. Sell yourself.
