Weekend Fishing Report

Oct. 13, 2008
Categorized in: Just for Fun

What started as an offshore trip quickly faded as the depth-finder decided to be difficult.  Not to fear though, our fishery is so good that you can always change tactics and target something else.  That’s what we did anyway.

As we came through Boca Grande pass it was hard to miss the cloud of birds that had formed over what looked like boiling water.  This was just the change we needed.  After a minute or two of re-rigging we were ready to troll a few spoons through the feeding frenzy taking place.  It was a matter of seconds before we heard the zing of the line screaming off the reel, Fish On!!!

My son, Brenden, came with us so he became the designated angler, as most 7 year olds do.  It’s hard to beat the excitement of a kid fighting a fish.  I can hardly think of anything I enjoy more than fishing, but I will pass a rod any day to see their eyes light up with excitement.  Brenden caught fish after fish and even started acting like a seasoned fisherman, rubbing our noses in the fact that he was doing all of the catching.

If this sounds like a good way to spend a few hours on a Sunday morning give me a call today.  I will see if Brenden is available to out-fish you too!!!
