REAL ESTATE - Vista and frustration

well.........after hurricane Fay, and now several others on the way, my Vista issues are not getting any better.  My $3500. HP PC has bitten the dust after only a little over a year.  Why?  Because some rocket scientist at HP thought it was a really cool idea to put the fans on the notebook on the BOTTOM of said notebook, lol!

Do you use your notebook while standing?  No, most of us put it on a DESK.  While I will say there is one very small fan in the back of this pc, the major ones are on the bottom.

NAR - what were you thinking of when you did an affiliation with HP?  I called about this problem, got a very nice, polite Indian person on the phone whom I could NOT understand, but THE one thing I understood CLEARLY was that I was 39 days out of warranty to get the issue resolved.

hmmm...$3500. for a pc, comes with Vista (which won't work with most of my programs unless I spend another $3500 - NOT to mention I had to buy a new printer, because Vista wouldn't work with it either)

I am a very consumer friendly person, but when there are problems like this that prevent me from doing business, it does not make me a happy camper.

Any others out there with similar issues?  I'd love to hear them because I am going to email HP, NAR and anyone else I can about this matter. I spent a LOT of money to get a lemon pc, I also can't work because it is dead.

Think I'll get a new url....HPscrewsUP.com or maybe VistaSuks.com?  I'm not quite sure where the problem is. HP blames it on Vista....  lol, Vista blames it on HP.  Adobe won't work, and they blame it on Vista, and Vista blames it on them.

Think I'll go look at a mac!

Agree totally on both HP is junk (as are all other laptops excepting ThinkPads). HP make PRINTERS. :) If you know someone working at Lenovo or IBM, you can get a pretty good Employee Purchase Plan discount. I use it regularly.

Also, if you can save your old XP install disks and put that on instead of Vista. I never switched over and don't think I'll need to until MS stops supporting XP.
