well.........after hurricane Fay, and now several others on the way, my Vista issues are not getting any better. My $3500. HP PC has bitten the dust after only a little over a year. Why? Because some rocket scientist at HP thought it was a really cool idea to put the fans on the notebook on the BOTTOM of said notebook, lol!
Do you use your notebook while standing? No, most of us put it on a DESK. While I will say there is one very small fan in the back of this pc, the major ones are on the bottom.
NAR - what were you thinking of when you did an affiliation with HP? I called about this problem, got a very nice, polite Indian person on the phone whom I could NOT understand, but THE one thing I understood CLEARLY was that I was 39 days out of warranty to get the issue resolved.
hmmm...$3500. for a pc, comes with Vista (which won't work with most of my programs unless I spend another $3500 - NOT to mention I had to buy a new printer, because Vista wouldn't work with it either)
I am a very consumer friendly person, but when there are problems like this that prevent me from doing business, it does not make me a happy camper.
Any others out there with similar issues? I'd love to hear them because I am going to email HP, NAR and anyone else I can about this matter. I spent a LOT of money to get a lemon pc, I also can't work because it is dead.
Think I'll get a new url....HPscrewsUP.com or maybe VistaSuks.com? I'm not quite sure where the problem is. HP blames it on Vista.... lol, Vista blames it on HP. Adobe won't work, and they blame it on Vista, and Vista blames it on them.
Think I'll go look at a mac!

Hi again all, I know that my last post was several days ago, BUT, having just gotten a new laptop that came with (( gulp )) VISTA, I HAVE experienced some delays in my productivity. For that, I must apologize.
Shall we say that my recommendation is that if you have to get a new pc, that you should NOT get one with Vista? lol....... looking back on it, if I was going to go through a wicked, time intensive learning curve with a new OS, I would have chosen a MAC.
Why?
Less viruses, for one thing, more people use Microsoft, so that is where all the hackers go, and the other is that NONE of my programs are 'Vista Compliant'. (Hello, Bill Gates are you out there???!!)
oh yes, I can spend about $1500. to upgrade all my programs and PRAY they will work (no guarantees there from the powers that be!) but WHAT good does that DO ME?
SIGH...........
SO, WHEN I overcome these issues, I'll be baaaack! For now, I can only say that XP is out the door for support in the near future, so if YOU ARE looking for a new PC, check on a MAC!
MORE NEWS AT 11:00 pending the working of VISTA (HP - ARE YOU OUT THERE?!

After taking several of Fran Thorsen's NoBloggerLeftBehind classes, and several personal coaching sessions by the illustrious "Blog Queen" Fran Thorsen, and still being 'blog challenged' I thought I'd better make a post before Fran sent thugs after me ;-)
So......(( BIG BREATH!! )) Here we go!
Having some rare and spare time on my hands (and nagging from my friends) I decided just to jump in and take the advice of my favorite company, NIKE, and JUST DO IT!
Here goes! Be gentle with me guys!!
The topic I'd like to speak about on my first post is the need for change in the real estate industry, the need for more education between agents, consumers, vendors and the media, and how we can all work better together to help each other understand and appreciate how to do this difficult thing we call real estate.
The consumer doesn't understand how we work, agents don't get enough training or help, and Brokers are scared to death because of the economy. The market, in some area's, is tough, everyone is scared - but what goes up, must come down, and what goes down, will eventually go up! It is cyclical.
Trying to downsize commissions is not the answer.
Neither is blaming the agents, the media, or the market.
The answer is EDUCATION, HONESTY, ETHICS AND WORKING TOGETHER!
(Remember this? United we stand, divided we fall?)
Now, this was a big step for me, and I'm proud to have done my FIRST blog post! WHOOHOO!
I have lost 13 brain cells in the process, so you will now have to wait til tomorrow for
the conclusion of:
HOW DO WE GET PAST THIS AND MAKE IT BETTER?!
